About the Artwork: This series, initiated in late 2019, documents a personal journey from lament to confidence. As the COVID-19 pandemic unfolded, it became a visual narrative of resilience and hope. Utilizing accessible materials, I explored themes of joy, hope, and resilience through playful colors and textures. Inspired by the excitement and hope in the eyes of my daughter and the many children I taught at my studio, I sought to create works that evoke a sense of optimism. The interplay of light and shadow, bold strokes and delicate details, mirrors the nuanced nature of emotional experiences. These works invite viewers to explore their own emotional landscapes, encouraging reflection and renewed wonder for the future.

This piece titled “Creation’s Curves” is inspired by the words of Jeremiah the Weeping Prophet.

"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."(Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV).
