The mission of our full-day art & academic enrichment program is to provide children & youth with opportunities to explore artistic self-expression while studying the arts in a safe and community focused atmosphere. We aim to develop community, creativity confidence and compassion through creative arts based approaches to art & academic enrichment.
Our daily schedule includes time for creative exploration of various content areas, problem solving activities, collaborative projects, community building and more.
Level 1: Inspire
Ages: 5+
Classes are planned based on the age of students who sign up. Some classes will run in one large group while others are broken up into small groups based on age and ability.
Dates: Wednesday starting January 8, 2020- March 4, 2020
Time: Our schedule is geared toward homeschoolers, or young children (5 and up) who are still at home. Our day together starts at 10:00am and ends at 2:00pm. We also offer extended Open Studio hours until 3pm.
Enrollment Dates: Enrollment is due by December 15th and can be done in person, over the phone or online.
Tuition can be paid in a 3-part installment plan.
Projected Schedule
10:00 - Arrival
Students are encouraged to do individualized quiet work such as reading, sketching or writing in a journal. We have various related resources available for the students to explore.
10:15 - Welcome meeting
check in, engage in a community building activity and establish plan for the day.
10:30 - Academic/Art block 1
Artsy Science Experiments
11:30 - 12:30 Lunch with friends
Followed by an outdoor or movement activity
12:30 - 1:30 Academic/Art block 2
This block of time will be dedicated to studio art techniques like painting, drawing, printmaking & photography. Students will collectively choose a theme and use different studio art mediums to create around that theme. There will be 2 themes for each session.

1:30-2:00 Clean up, free-time and dismissal

How will I know how my child is doing in the program?
We will email home a monthly newsletter with highlights form the program. Each student will receive a journal for writing, sketching, note taking, journaling, documenting & drawing. We will also support students in pulling together a portfolio of their work. This portfolio could include pieces of writing, art, photographs of activities and more.
We will hold an ending reception based on a theme studied in our session. Families will be invited and are encouraged to attend. Students may prepare food, skits, presentations, music, etc. They will have the opportunity to present in any way they choose. Videos, photos, visual art or sculptures can be presented as well.
