Re-Deme Studio Teaching Artist / Facilitator
About
Join the Re-Deme team! We are looking for artists, musicians, dancers, writers, performers, makers and educators who love teaching and working with all ages. We host creative arts, design and DIY workshops in house and travel to community organizations like recreation departments, schools, assisted living developments and museums to offer programming that gives patrons an oppurtunity to grow skills, build community and remain curious. We offer art, design & hands-on learning classes that focus on technique, creativity and using our skills and talents for good.
Responsibilities
Re-Deme Teaching Artists & facilitators will lead creative arts, design & hands-on learning classes in an engaging and inclusive manner. They will help develop community and a sense of belonging for our patrons. Art and design course curriculum as well as material kits are provided and concepts, techniques and process are built upon each consecutive week. You are also welcome to propose your own curriculum. Through weekly classes and gallery exhibitions, Re-Deme Instructors will build relationships with students and families ensuring a safe, fun and empowering atmosphere. Staff will be expected to help set up and cleanup before and after studio classes. This is a part-time and flexible (hourly) position. There will also be opportunities to join our full-time team.
Requirements
Experience working with children and/or a background in art and design
Collaborative, team player, enthusiastic about sharing your passion for art, design and hands-on learning.
Background in education preferred
Organized, detail-oriented, proactive, professional and patient

Salary
Hourly rate: $20-25 (commensurate with experience).
